A coin box is a simple Montessori activity that you can make in minutes.
- container (cube or cylinder)
- glue or tape
- pencil or pen
- Measure the width of your container and cut the paper to those measurements.
- Adhere the paper to the container covering any other pictures or writing.
- With the lid on the container trace a rectangle in the center, then using the scissors poke a hole through the middle of the rectangle. Cut along the rectangle.
Voila! You’re done!
You could do this with coins or vary the size of your container and try it with pencils or chenille sticks. Just cut the hole to match the shape of your object.
