Discovery Box

in In the Classroom, Infant/Toddler Activities

As I was switching up the work this week, I realized that the work I put on the bottom shelf is going to have to be Otto-friendly. One thing I set out for him this week was a mini-treasure basket, but in a box…so I decided to call it a Discovery Box. :)

I put 6 different items of varying sizes, weights, and textures. He was pretty focused on exploring it and sat for at least 30 minutes picking up and playing with the objects. After awhile I had Joey get a cake pan and show Otto on to hit the cake pan with the clothespin. He liked that too.

Love the concentration face of your little one. I did the same with my little one at the same age and she had a blast. Fun to see it here.

Ah infant exploration. I love how easy it is to connect that age group with a meaningful work. He’s adorable.

I love the objects you selected for him. I bet he had a great time. Your son is very, very adorable…that’s for sure!

This is so cute!! I’ll have to keep this in mind when baby #4 joins our classroom!

I always make the treasure basket for my infant classroom but I like your discovery box idea. Please post some more infant activities.
