I stumbbled on to you site and it reminded me of my home. I was wondering how the infant part has gone for you. I really enjoyed doing montessori and having an infant. My son is now 3 and it has been awesome to see how well hte montessori theory works.

Hi Krista,

I’m glad you find my site! Montessori’s own writings can be very dry at times and very thorough making them tough to read. I’ve been reading The Montessori Method and hope to finish, but I also picked up Paula Polk Lillard’s book Montessori: A Modern Approach. It’s a condensed version of The Montessori Method. That’s one I’d suggest. If you’d like a more thorough reading on Montessori for infant and toddler’s Lillard has another book called Montessori from the Start which I found helpful. A bit long, but she explains the concepts of Montessori related to infant/toddlers in the home and school very well.

Hi Jessica,
I feel so fortunate to have stumbled across your blog. I am currently teaching my one year old daughter at home. It has been a slow learning process. I have subscribed to Lisa Nolan’s online curriculum.

Lisa Nolan’s online curriculum has been helpful. But, I was interested in doing further reading to grasp more of what Montessori is about. I was tempted to purchase a book by Maria Montessori, but I read customer reviews on Amazon explaining that her books were dry and boring. What books would you suggest? Other authors possibly?

Also, can I look up activities you guys have done by time period, your son being one year old?

Hi Jessica, I’ve been looking for on-line informations about homeschooling the montessori way for my 7 month old baby and came across your blog. I am so glad to have found that your son is of the same age.
I really don’t know how to prepare a good home environment for our son. We live in a very small one bedroom apartment and there is no room to put away things. Our home looks cluttered all the time and like you I can’t function when things are not in order.
I hope you have a suggestion regarding this matter.
