Our first week getting back into routine was pretty well. We managed to do “school” most mornings with a lot of practical life Valentine’s inspired activities.

Counting Conversation Hearts

Pin poking has been a favorite activity of Joey’s this week.

Transferring with wooden balls.

Practicing in and out with a homemade imbucare box.

What are you up to this week?

I’m planning to start our poem a week with Longfellow’s “The Arrow and the Song” and work on sensorial extensions with Joey.

I really like your wooden balls. I have just put out the same activity on our shelves but i only have ping pong balls, I bet the wooden ones are a lot more satisfying to hold.

I think I need to ask my husband for a large box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day just so I can reuse the container next year for a tray for our boys! Haha! You know you are a homeschooling mom when…

I would love for you to share these at WOTT.

I love the wooden ball activity as well! I may just try it with Walnuts instead of wooden balls as that is what I have on hand! My son is 12 months, and very into transferring things with his hands, I think he would love this!

Great activities … I love that you have both toddler and preschool activities! And I love the concentrated expressions! Thanks so much for linking up with Montessori Monday. I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/LivingMontessoriNow.

What did you use for the wooden “sticks” with the imbucare box above? Where did you get them? Thanks for sharing your ideas – I read your blog daily and appreciate you incorporating activities for infants – My 8-mo old loves exploring new things!
