Making Fossils, Food, & Extensions

This week we continued learning about dinosaurs and I’m surprised how Joey has picked up the vocabulary and used it correctly–theropods, sauropods, predators, and paleontologist.

I also introduced Joey to a few sensorial extensions with the pink tower and brown stair. He seemed to really enjoy it, but I did notice some inconsistencies in the measurements with the tower and stair (fyi – I got them from A+ Montessori). I got the extension cards from Montessori Print Shop.

Joey prepared his own snack,

And cleaned up. 🙂

But his favorite work by far this week was making fossils and dinosaur tracks with playdough:

You know how babies love playing with pots and pans? Think of it as an infant sensorial activity…experiencing different sounds by tapping a pot with different types of utensils (wood, plastic, metal)

and it doubles as a teether.

What have you been up to this week?

Linking up with Tot School & Montessori Monday.

Pots and pans are such a great source of fun for the little one;-) I love your fossil work. Your son seems so focus on the task 😉

I love that your little one made his own snack and cleaned up. Mine is 30 months and I need to start working with him on those things. Love the play doh fossils, glad it was a hit!

LOVING the playdough fossils! We’ll definitely have to do that one for our dinosaur theme week. What a fun week!
