Making Mazes, Maps, & Words

Last week we were getting back in the groove of things, since I was out of town for a few days at The Relevant Conference and then spending time with my mom while she was visiting. We’ve managed to spend quality time during “school time” each day this week.

Our First Red Rods Maze

Me on the Map

This month we’re studying an overview of the continents, where we live, and the places we’re going to visit (to see family) in the next few months.

I got this great printable from Pencils, Glue, & Tying Shoes. I was so excited to not figure out the sizes myself!

We went to Google Earth and looked at the world, then our continent, country, state, city, street, and home. With each I took a screenshot of the map, copied it into a Word document, print it, and then Joey glued it together.

We’ve been spelling words with c, m, r, t, a, and s (or basket #1 as some people call it).

We’ve also been using the pink series #1 cards and pictures (from Montessori Print Shop) too.

Color Box 2

Matching Numbers

(I don’t remember where I found this printable, when I do I’ll share.)

And Otto’s taken to drinking from a cup. After catching him reaching for (and grabbing) his brother’s cup, we decided he could have his own at meals. It’s pretty cute.

Oh I wish my toddler would drink from a cup so nicely! I have tried and tried but we end up with water everywhere which was fun in the hotter months but now i have had to only allow him to try just before we plan to change clothes {so breakfast and dinner most days}- Otto is doing a great job!

    Love your red rod maze!

It’s not always so nicely…and the backwash gets me sometimes. Ew! But it’s a work in progress…for us and your little guy. 🙂
